What mileage for brake change?

Just wondering what mileage you guys are on at the point of having to replace brake parts?
Interested to know what parts you are having to change - just front pads but not discs etc.

Cheers.

I think that would really depend on how the person drives and stomps on his brakes. Mileage would less is used more. Some guys have tracked their cars and I would think they would have to change out early.

Agree it depends on driving style but for average road use I would be interested to know if its 10k,15k,20k etc.
I can't seem to find anywhere that sells brake pads and discs for the F10!

My friend has 20K on his M5 and the pads still have 15K on them according to the computer, he like me uses the gears a lot for slowing down, and we do not fly up to roundabouts road junctions either.

Thanks John. So they are pretty tough pads then. I must admit I don't drive quite how you describe but even so, based on what you have said they should be good for 20k.
That's good news.

I have had lots of new BMW's, M3, M6, 640DMS, X635D MS,F10 550i MS, X3 35D MS, and now this 330D MS F31.
None have had much if any wear on the pads after 12 months use according to the computer.
Maybe I don't drive them hard enough.
Lots of brake dust though
On my last three cars I have had the inside of the wheels painted Black Gloss and it seems to make the wheel cleaning much faster, and they look great for longer.
