Seat belt warning

Anyone else have this issue. If I leave my ipad on the passenger front seat I get a warning light to fasten the seat belt on the seat. Pretty annoying.

Never happens in the M5 but it happens in our X3. It got so bad in the X3 the dealer had to fix it because it was going off with nothing on the seat. Still happens occasionally so then we have to fasten the seat belt on an empty seat. It's a PITA. Car is out of warranty though I should take it back and have them get it right - but going back to the dealership is a PITA too.

Should be an easy fix for this seat belt annoyance. Should be an easy way to short a couple of wires in the harness receiver to make the car think the belt is always on.

Have you tried removing some of the extra data on the iPad you don't need to free up some weight so it doesn't set the warning off?

I get the problem with the kids booster seat, when he's not in the car that is. simple fix for me, I just put the seatbelt on, takes 2 seconds and shuts the damn thing up, it's meant to be safe in a crash too
