Yes, they actually inspect each car since it was in the owner's possession and contraband could have been hidden somewhere.

So how long would it take do you think for them to get released? By the way the carrier website now shows the boat hitting Halifax on the 24th and leaving on the 24th from Halifax arriving on the 26th. It is scheduled to leave NY on the 27th so our cars should be off the boat by the 27th, Thursday. I am hoping we can pickup the car the week of 10/1

I'm assuming 5 to 7 days for a northern NJ delivery since we're pretty close to the port. So if the car is unloaded on the 26th or 27th (wed/Thurs), I'm assuming I can take delivery early the following week on the 2nd or 3rd (Tues/Wed). It could take a little longer for you in Ohio, maybe a day?

When did you drop off, and did you do it in Munich?

Hoping mine is on the same boat.

Well folks i am on the ATHENS HIGHWAY ship... not the Toronto like i thought, that makes sense why i cant find my VIN on the WW site... supposedly it uses K-LINE Shipping company(?) according to my salesman at BMW dealership. I will do more research and post back findings... just got the ship name 2 mins ago

Dude,

I tried using the WW website as well. The site says it has no records for my VIN.

I dropped my M5 off on the 7th as well before you did. Was thinking that mine should be on the boat already if yours is too, but who knows. My M5 is also going to the West Coast also, so it may be different. Hmm...

Just email the lognout lady and she will send you something.

Follow the directions in the Tracking and delivery thread pinned at the top. That is the only way I was able to track my car. I also emailed lognout to be sure.

I think the west coast only gets one boat every two weeks. I dropped mine off on the 10th, and I'm guessing I'll be on the Fidelio leaving bremerhaven on 9/24. I bet you're on the same boat

Mine left for the west coast on the 7th, on the Torino. Maybe that was the most recent west coast bound boat.

www.kline.com ships mostly to the west coast.. check their site for shipping schedules and maybe you are on one of their boats??!? if you are on a boat, your sales person can absolutely tell you.

Yeah I went on both the WW website and the Kline Website. Both had nothing for me.

I just emailed LOGINOUT and my salesman. I hope they can give me some info.

Or maybe my car is lost somewhere in the shipping process and I'll never see it again.

I've done 11 BMW ED's and had it take as few as 3 days and as many as 27 days to clear customs > release from VDC > release to trucking from boat docking. Good Luck!

Hoping we are on the shorter side and not the longer side. What were the issues that delayed the car 27 days?

Boat now looks like its supposed to hit Halifax on 9/23 and then depart on 9/24. Still shows arrival in NY on 9/26. Am hoping it hits NY a day ahead of schedule on 9/25 since it looks like its already one day ahead.

It's out of range when going across the Atlantic. As it gets closer to the East Coast it will show back up.

I got the schedule on the WW Website. I looked up schedule by boat.

You can track it with sailwx as it goes across the ocean. Marine traffic only works near the coasts. The Fedora looked to be a day ahead of schedule for most of the trip and the date listed was a day ahead of the original schedule. Unfortunately it slowed down and arrived on the originally scheduled date. Hope your boat stays ahead of schedule. At least my car is finally in the country and due to arrive at the dealer on Monday!

Well, one bit of good news for those of us with cars on the Toronto. She's back on the grid, just south of Newfoundland. Due into Halifax tomorrow.

How are they going to unload our cars from the boat. I heard that BMW has informed dealers to not even start the cars.

They'll drive them off. The representative from BMW NA said the shipping company likely won't know about the recall. He said the delivery process will continue until the car arrives at the dealer.
