How much is the SSP Kris?

and what sort or Torque can it with stand, im in my last few months of warranty and busting to boost my M5's power but want to take the right steps in getting things in order first before ramping up the power, obviously you guys live and breathe these cars be the looks of some of the posts im following so i thought i'd ask the man himself.

I'm not looking to be the fastest man in the world as i personally think you can go to far and ruin a good car so i'm thinking about 750bhp-800 tops but i'm unsure of the Torque factor and what effect this can have on other components ie drive shaft and not forgetting the breaks which i feel are already not up to the job on even a standard M5 never mind tuning 1.

any info would be great

thanks

jonny

We appreciate all the business guys. We have sold out of all of our Spec-R Clutch's and Packages already. We will have more stock by the end of next week.

We have left the orders open on the website with late delivery.

Happy Holidays.

When these cars reach 700 wheel torque, I recommend to change the clutch ans baskets at the same time. There is no reason to spend labor monies twice.

Jonathan, I would point you in the direction of buying the entire Spec-R clutch package. This package covers all the bases for your vehicles clutch.

https://www.sspperformance.com/bmw-d...n-package.html

I have recommendations on people that can help you with tuning your vehicle when you get to that point.

Please feel free to email me directly if you have any further questions. Kris@sspperformance.com

Kris, I guess a better question should be how do I know when the baskets are bad or going bad? Do they make noise?

The baskets that we see breaking are due to fatigue around 700+wheel torque. Continuous heavy torque loads on the basket cause the welds to break. Two things will happen if the of the output baskets break:
Car will not move on its own power
Car will go into free rev if under load

You can purchase the Spec-R clutch by itself. The Spec-X will come as a package.
