Not exactly the same though - BMW OEM performance LCI grill is not painted, IND's is painted (outer ring). So in comparison, the BMW will be a bit more durable.

Thank you GNALUZU for clarifying this for me... If BMW installs accessory grille and charges for it, they should at least give you the OEM grille too afterall you paid for it! I am going to try and cancel order for accessory grille and wait until I can get black M5 LCI grille without emblem attached.

I'm on the fence with that one. Had I paid for the part and installation then I would definitely want the original grill. However, since I didn't want the badge on the front grill (and didn't pay anything for the install) I don't care what happened to the original grill.

While I see your point, it is kind of like asking for the original exhaust when you order the competition package that comes with a different exhaust.

To each their own. I know a lot of folks seem to want the newer, double slat, grill. To me, I just don't care as long as it doesn't have the badge on it.

From what it seems, the BMW black performance LCI grill isnt easy to get in the US right now. IND orders the regular LCI grill then preps it and paints it, you pay for their work, and a premium for the scarcity of the product. I also have the non-lci grills from IND, and their paint work was top notch on that.

My 2 cents, but for a $100k car, $400 isnt much to pay for an accessory, and you cant really compare it to the pre-lci grill, thats an obsolete part.
Thanks for clarifying. I agree, $400 is nothing for an accessory, but it's still essentially plastic components (same as pre-LCI). The M5 demands its due tax. I agree about iND - I have the side pieces, and their work is certainly top notch.

I probably should have just waited since Im not installing them til after the bad winter weather, probably could have gotten them much cheaper once regularly in stock. But I have issues, as do many of u here do as well wen it comes to the M5...
