Best interior color for AW M5?

Going to place order for M5.

I know I want Alpine White Exterior but cannot decide on interior color.

My choices currently are

Full Black with Aluminum Trim
Cohiba Brown/Black with Piano Black Trim
Graphite/Black with Piano Black Trim.

I like the cohiba brown because its not as typical but scared to go with it as i have never seen one in person. Also there are not many picture of it.

Please help me out and give me as much input as you can.

Thanks

Congrats! I personally think the cohiba brown with piano black trim would look excellent! You can't really go wrong with cohiba as it's not a flashy color, but yet it's probably a more unique and interesting combination than the other two.

Have you looked through these photos threads for reference?

Good luck and happy ordering.

No not the brown! Go for the Full Black with Alu Trim, so sporty! IMO

Im going for Sakhir to be bold - but I think Silverstone in an AW car looks so sweet. Out of your options though, I say black.

I'd go silk grey with aluminum trim. I think the brown is a sickly shade myself. Black second choice.

Thanks for the responses. I'm still lost on what color now. I just didn't like black eventhough I like it because all my previous cars have been white on black. That's why I'm looking for something else.

I'd recommend either Silk or Graphite, but I can't find pics of any of them anywhere so I'm working off the UK configurator. Otherwise, if you don't want Sakhir with piano black I'd probably go with Black and aluminum trim.

But keep in mind that going with Cohiba, Graphite, or Silk Extended will get you the coverage of Full non-Individual leather EXCEPT a leather-wrapped dashboard and leather on the upper door sills, which would be enough on its own to steer me away from them. Of the 3 base colors I'm probably most partial to Silverstone, but I'm not sure how I'd like it on AW. Someone mentioned there's a special option code that will get you leather wrap in those areas, but there's no indication that that option code will be valid on US builds. I suppose you could get it for sure by going for a full Individual build, but that would be a lot more expensive.

Anything but that tacky looking sakhir. Maybe for the M3 because its sporty, but for a car that is supposed to be classier and more mature don't get sakhir.

^^^Is that for sure? The individual leathers are not full coverage leather, such as full lack leather? If that's true, then I totally agree with you. Black full for me then.^^

Yep, it's documented (see below) and you can even see the change if you play with the configurator. The Individual leather selections don't trigger a change in the dashboard or upper door trim areas; they look the same as the standard Extended options, even though in all other regards they resemble Full (where the change in those areas is visually clear).

Another interesting tidbit is that if you go Black Extended, you only get leatherette on the door panels, whereas going with Silverstone or Sakhir Extended gives you real leather in those areas. Can't figure out why that is, since that area is always leather in Full regardless of color, and Sakhir and Silverstone are both done in leatherette in other areas...

Full info here:

On standard EXTENDED Merino Leather, ALL of the following are BLACK PLASTIC, irrespective of the leather color selected:
(1) Rear of seat backrest
(2) Folding pockets in Black Leatherette (rear of seat backrest)
(3) Upholstery insert door trim (this is Colored Leatherette/vinyl, matching the color of the leather surfaces)
(4) Center Console sides
(5) Door upper-arm trim panel
(6) Instrument panel (upper section)
(7) Instrument panel (lower section)

On BWM Individual EXTENDED Merino leather, EVERY item on the above list becomes leather (i.e. as is similarly the case for non-Individual FULL Merino Leather), EXCEPT for:
(1) Door upper-arm trim panel remains BLACK plastic grained
(2) Instrument panel (upper section) remains BLACK Foil grained (vinyl)

You would think that for the extra $1,500, BMW would also provide their Individual interiors with the Black Leather Upper Dashboard and Black Leather Door upper-arm trim panel that are BOTH leather-covered on the Full Merino (non-Individual) interior option.

Thanks for all the great responses. I placed order already but did it for full black interior first as it didnt allow for us to order Cohiba Brown at the moment. Had to put in order to secure my number 1 spot. They will change it to Cohiba when order bank allows unless i change my mind with the input I receive from here.

you can order the Individual leather as Full Leather, not many people know this, but ask your dealer to add the 4M5 option code and it will make the dashboard and instrument panel in leather

I will do that thanks. Is that an additional fee for full leather option for individual option?

Do we know that 4M5 is a valid option code in the US, and if so I too would like to know the cost.

Also, I believe you mean to say 4M5 affects the dashboard and upper door trim?

I'm number one at my dealer, and just to be sure, I'm going with full black leather just to be safe. I don't want any surprises, as we are early in the US ordering process. It was nearly my first choice anyway.

Also getting alpine white, exec and assistance package, 20" and B&O, aluminum trim. There, done!

Congrats! Based on your sig it looks like you've already got a pretty impressive stable; will the M5 be replacing any of them or an addition? Also, what prompted the 12 911S when you've got an 11 TTS? Is the former going to be a dedicated track car? How do the two compare?

The M5 is an addition. I traded away an A8 for the 991. I like to keep a sedan for sedan-type things, but figured I wouldn't need the A8 for the summer.

The TTS and 991 911S are just such different cars they can't be compared. I love the TTS so much that it will not go until its replacement. My dealer had an open slot for the 911, for a following week build, so it was an impulse buy as I could have it for the summer. I just wanted to see what it was all about. It's a stupendous car, more of a GT touring car than track oriented car. It's my daily driver now. The M5 will probably be my daily next.

Have you considered piano black trim with your black interior? I didn't think I would like this all black combo but monsterf10m5 just posted pics in his thread and it looks excellent.
