Happy Birthday to Me
Picked up my new M5 last night. Whole thing started when I bought my wife a new X5 diesel a few days ago and joked about getting an M5.
I was missing the M experience after selling my E90 M3 and getting a 750Li. The 750 is a fantastic car, but it was an experiment for me. I had never owned a big luxury car and wanted to try it. Really liked it, but but was also very bummed about not having a performance car in the garage either. If I had a 911 to go with it would have been a different decision. Problem is that I don't have time to drive multiple cars since I have 5 kids and a job where I travel 50% of the time. Anyway, dealer worked really hard to get the deal done. Super stoked right now. Specs are Singapore Grey over black, executive and 20" wheels, which was the exact car I wanted Unfortunately it will be sitting in the garage for the next two weeks while I am out of town, but even the 5 miles I drove last night put a smile on my face! |

Hand the M5 key over to your wife (& kids, if they have license) and by the time you come back, it's all broken in and perhaps, the first service may have already got done.
Happy B-Day ! |

... but you have yet given her the opportunity to go for a REAL drive in the M5.
Not sure where you live have twisty mountain and back country roads for her to test it out. Even better would be a race track ! I recently took mine out on a winding mountain roads for almost 3 hrs ride, I really enjoyed the M5 going thru that type of roads. |

Highway 93 (Ice field parkway) between Banff and Jasper if you ever get the chance to drive out west... Early moring the old Trans-Canada Hwy 1 out of Banff... Amazing.... (But don't feel too bad my baby has been sitting in the garage since late October, I'd die to go for a drive in Toronto)

One of my 750 Any my new ride My wife gets major motion sickness and we have not figured out a way to get rid of it yet. Tried dramamine, bands, etc but if anyone has any ideas let me know. Kids are LOVING it. Had to do a few loops from the house this afternoon! |

Congrats on the car, i bet it will be alot more fun than the 7. I was looking at a 750M sport and decided to go with the M5. So glad I did. |

I had the MSport package on my 750 and um yeah... That is the bastardization of the M name that everyone talks about. Should just be called a sport package if not just an appearance package. The 750 is very big. Only a couple of inches shorter than our Yukon XL. Was great for taking friends out and very comfortable to drive on the highway. Plenty of power and room to stretch out. Like I said before if I had a 911 to go with it I would have kept it. |

Congrats! I went the same route as you. Had a 2012 750i as well and drove it for a year and a half. Even had the Dinan upgrade. Flawless car... but it wasn't an M5. So I traded her in and have no regrets.
