As for the sound, yes identical to the BMS (maybe a little louder) you hear the main difference half way through gear changes, you get a nice audible air surge on acceleration and then another on throttle lift off, also pops and bangs from exhaust seem to have increased.
Very nice. Thanks Sir.

Getting mine this week. RAMAIR uses machined aluminum velocity stacks with foam filters, so the sound is intoxicating. I'll try to post some vids later this week.

I have them I just can't come to grips with cutting my plastic intake pipes. I guess I can just buy replacement intakes for $900 from getbmwparts.com

The ramair pvc pipes are on their way...these I have no problem with and will probably modify them slightly to open them up.

My pvc kit has been sitting in Los Angeles for a week!! Gotta love our postal service.

I'll post pics of the modified FN RamAir kit once done I'm surprised no one in the US sells square pvc piping like the one you have access to at any hardware store. Ours are all round.

It's ok to cut the OEM box. You can use the couplings that come with the RAMAIR Kit to restore it back to OEM filters later if needed.

I installed the intakes last week on the M6. The induction sounds great. I have the BMS stage 1 tune on the M6 however it threw a CEL. Took the air filters out of the M6 and installed them on the M5 and no CEL. So crossing fingers and hoping no more CEL on both.

To be safe, clean your MAF with MAF cleaner spray. A dirty MAF (exposed to dust during install) sometimes can cause CELs. Intakes should not cause CELs, especially these are dry filters. Heavily oiled filters like BMC drop in has known to cause CELs on the M5s.

I've cleaned the MAF sensors twice but the CEL didn't go away. The combo of the tune and the intakes was the culprit for me.

I might get some metal brackets from Home Depot. The whole intakes move. If left like that, it might damage the filter or rattle.

I would try velcro on the the air box and aluminum tube of the Ramair intake. Post pics when done!

My solution, buy a 2.5" L bracket from Home Depot. Bend it to a U shape, bolt it to the lower air box with the OEM air box screw, then slip the gear clamp of the intake over it. The result, looks perfect.

I'm super happy with the intakes. They sound like HKS SSQV BOVs.

Looking good, a quick coat of matt black paint on the bracket would help blend it in a little more.

Ok so if running this intake setup we need to get a oil catch can ? What would happen if you don't have one? How to maintain?
