Factory 343's vs Vorsteiner FlowForm...?

The M is my daily... So I don't want to spend a bunch of money on beautiful forged wheels.... As they WILL get banged up.

But I'm thinking I may want to give the car a different look with aftermarket wheels. STAYING WITH 20".

So, the price point of Vorsteiners FlowFormed wheels is exactly what I'd be okay with.

BUT... I've got the 343's currently. And so here's the question:

Considering the 343's are 'forged' and the Vorsteiners are 'flow formed'...What kind of loss in performance will I experience? Less strength? Etc...?

Is a more customized look withy the loss in performance?

Thoughts?

I assume "FlowFormed" is a nice way to say cast... In any case there will be some loss in strength depending on the wheel you choose.. As for performance it could be better or worse depending on the wheel, compare the weight with the 343s

Actually, it's not simply cast. Google it...

If you are going to increase the size to 21's (22's are out of question) Velos, Strasse, HRE are proudly forged wheels made in America, If you are going to look for 20's the only option is BBS F1 any other is less rim that the ones you are rolling now.

Thanks for the opinion. This is kind of what I'm thinking too.

Look at Dinan wheels as well. I would also stick with BBS FI's.
Vorsteiner is great with body parts, but I am not sure they spend as much time on their wheels. With all that said I still like them and would get them for my own car.

I gotcha... The Dinan's are still $6k. I just can't see spending that on wheels that are gonna get banged up. This is my daily. I was thinking somewhere between 3 and 4k. I'd just leave the 343's vs spend 6k.

I went back to my 343's in the mean time and don't have to watch for the smallest pot holes and have an anxiety every time I drive.

Interestingly enough HRE offers several flow formed wheels.

Flow formed it is just a cast new formula, never close to forged wheels. 343's resist a lot of abuse because they are forged German wheels just like the BBS F1s.
