Pure Turbos Stage 1

Anyone got a real world graphs? The one on their site would suggest the turbo runs out of puff around 5.5rpm which looks pretty rubbish. Huge midrange but poor top end. Turbo might be great and the mapping is poor looking for more graphs for comparison.

Pure only doing 700 crank power at 7000rpm standard turbos can do that stage 1 map and stage 2 map they can do around 750bhp. Something not adding up

edit,

re-read, it maybe suggests its 820WHP? so that's over 900 Flywheel BHP???

Allmotor is this your car by any chance??

Those numbers are at the wheels so it has over 900 crank.

Thanks. Plenty power for me. Pity the power curve looks like a diesel peaking at 5500rpm. I guess fine tuning might flatten the curve somewhat.

How much power do you need from a sedan lol? 700WHP NOT CRANK - 850whp pretty much dominates every car on the road you are in like the .0001% of fast cars driving around lol... Also not sure with RWD and limited to 19-20'' tires you'd want over that anyway. My GTR at 1100whp on its daily map was about as close to useable daily power with 345/45/18' Nt05Rs not sure why you'd be upset if you replicated the above graph

Yeah that is enough for RWD (for me anyway, weather is always poor where I live). just saying the curve looks rubbish top end. I am not really a torque monster. I like top end and revving it out. Not much point revving more than 6k according to that graph. My 535d used to rev to 5500rpm and make power lol

I guess you could always tweak the map to suit. For me prob around 700lbs (engine and gearbox safe, ish) and try and extend the torque to 6500rpm would make a big difference

Your gtr must be crazy. My GTR -R35 had around 800bhp and that was awesome. Sold it as too extreme for everyday use.

Big tires made it more comfortable and confidence inspiring than my car on a GT800 HKS kit on 710whp and 19'' R888s the tires made all the difference

Car was very reliable for 26k miles . 41k miles under my ownership

Yeah that’s my previous F10 on the Stage 1 setup. Very simple and straightforward - ran 9’s in the 1/4 with that config. Quite fast!!

Did it feel like the graph looks on the road? Top end power dropping away?

No - I used to shift at 6200-6300. With the Stage 2’s around 6600 RPM. In fact it’s wierd for me now to shift st 7K+!

Car was plenty fast but don’t stay too long in the higher gears (4-6)... this isn’t the V10 E60, those days are long gone. Drive to the power curve.

thanks for the info.

Yeah I agree, drive to the power curve, that's why I am not keen on the power curve in question. I am sure with time and tuning top end can be improved on if the turbos are not flat out. Anyway that's a while away yet.

If you want top-end rising to red-line above the 750whp level, need to move away from stock housings.

750whp top end would do me though. So there is a bit of top end to be gained combined with lower torque to 700 lbs would go a long way of making the top end from 5500rpm raise slowly to the red line.

700lbs @ 5500 = 733whp
650lbs @ 6000 = 742
600lbs @ 6500 = 742
560lbs @ 7000 = 746
550lbs @ 7200 = 753

I know that is just a calculated scenario but think that gives good power without being too crazy on the engine and box. Turbo may be taking a bashing top end though I suppose.

I just hate the diesel feeling (losing power top of the rev range). Power needs to be linear all the way to red-line for me.

Seems like Stage 1 turbos will b enough for UK weather.
