Looking for first M5. Think I found it...Opinions welcomed!

Hey all,

I'm new to the forums and currently looking for my first M car. At the top of my list so far is a 2014 CP M5 currently negotatied to $41.5k. I'd have to ship it from MD to AZ so that adds about $1k.

Local BMW dealer quoted me $6k to extend the CPO warranty by one year. Is that an average price?

Details and pics below. Would love your thoughts/opinions on the mileage and price.
  • 55k Miles
  • Competition Package
  • 6 Year / 100k Miles
  • Wheel/Tire Hazard Protection until 2021
  • Maintenance until 10/2019

Other options:
  • Leather Seats
  • Sunroof/Moonroof
  • Executive Package
  • Power Package
  • Navigation System
  • Premium Wheels
  • Heat Package
  • Premium Package
  • Climate Package
  • Ambient Light Package
  • Light Package
  • Bluetooth
  • Backup Camera

Thanks! Not quite mine just yet but it's what I'm leaning towards at the moment.

There's a nice 2014 non-CP with 24k on it at Penske Audi in Chandler is you're interested in something local. They're asking 43k.

On the warranty, I paid $6k for 4 years, 50k miles on top of the 68k my 2013 had on it from Penske in Scottsdale, so I think that $6 for a year is a bit rich. It's third-party and includes just about everything.

I would think you can find a similar spec'd M5 in the 30s.

I have a great shipper for you who got mine to my door in Scottsdale from PA for $800. PM me if you want details. They are well-known in the M3 forum.

Good luck and be patient. Prices will only drop

That price is just a bit high, w/o B&O and no warranty. I would think you can get him a bit lower. That said, where in Md is this? If you end up passing on this car, would you please pm me the sellers info? I won't pursue it but if you pass, please let me know. Md is close to me.

I'm not an expert on pricing but that seems a little overpriced. I purchased my 2014 M5 with 7,340 miles on it in December of 2018 for $48,000. It is fully optioned including B&O and Carbon Ceramic Brakes.

Check out this one in Scottsdale. Not sure how set you are on color, but this is Competition Package, B&O, Executive, Driver's Assist. Imperial Blue is very pretty. it looks fantastic in the photos. Appears to be well-detailed. Don't be scared off by the mileage. If the car has been well cared for and you can get the maintenance records, then the miles are less important. The tires look good. This one has been online for almost six months, so there may be further wiggle room in the price. It even has two key fobs, which are about $500 each.

Wow. Nice price. Was that through a dealer or private party?
