The Force was too strong...slipped to the Dark Side

I am not worthy Vic and Henry! You two were sooooo right.

After all of my criticism of the Carrera S I finally was "thrown" the keys by a salesman who literally let me just take it out myself as long as I wanted. Well, didn't take long and I was in LOVE!

Canceled my M6 Coupe Competition Pkg and now have a seriously worthy stable mate for my F12 M6. Thought having 2 M6 cars might not be as much fun as having the P car there. And I am SURE that I am right! What a fantastic sports car-EVERYTHING is just so driver-centric and the performance feel you get when driving it is intoxicating. It just carves the bends and locks down at speed. "Glorious" to drive is how I would describe the driving experience behind the wheel. You hear people say "I would so lose you in the bends" and I am not sure that it can be understood until you are "straightening them out" with your right foot-lol

Honestly, I have never been nearly as excited about a car. This thing is utterly amazing. PERFECTLY balanced. Completely flat around turns and that high-revving normally aspirated motor roaring behind me...Oh man, I am just smitten!

THANK YOU Vic and Henry! You two pulled me right on over to the Dark Side and I am feeling right at home here!

She will be dropped a little more on Friday. Right here at Tim's (starchild) amazing shop!

Gorgeous!!!! I want to go to the dark side too. If the M4/M3 aren't worthy, I will have a 991 GT3 alongside the M5 in 2/3 years Saving my nickels and dimes

Congrats Mike - you might want to be examined for ADD..

She's gorgeous - I love the 991S.

One thing - those wheels - ugh - please swap them for some HREs post haste.

Enjoy it in good health.

Oh do not do that to me!-lol! SWEARING that I am leaving it as-is for a bit (yeah-I know...a ridiculous sentiment :-) It had HRE Flow Form P40 reps. I had them put the Porsche Classics on, which honestly, I rather like-wait until I drop it on Friday. It will change the whole look of those bad boys on the car. . Those Flow forms are not light and are not even made by HRE form what I understand. If I go with a set of HREs they will be REAL HREs!

Man, I know. ADD is an understatement huh?! It's the DECISION that stresses me out. Once it is made I am stable again!

Sweet car! I was scared to drive it because I need a 4 door car for my profession and had I driven a Porsche I probably would have purchased it. I do LOVE my M5. Only have 70 miles on it...

ENJOY that M5! There are MANY things I love about the M cars and many that I LOVE about the P cars. Now I can just choose which flavor I want when I go out into the garage.

You and me both Rob! I really just like the whole pkg. It does EVERYTHING well. I got hooked on the normally aspirated revving.

What are you getting? GT3? (assuming since waiting until Jan.)

Just when I thought I'd put all that 991 stuff behind me......

I had myself mentally centered back in the M. dismissed the Porche thing as some phase I was going through. A close call with disaster. I even signed up for the two day M school as a sign of commitment.

You do this and send me back to square 1.

Luke I see you finally realized Vader is you're father now use the force correctly. Welcome to the dark side as I said M and 991S perfect mates. Had a blast at M school today, and ran onto two guys the did ED with last year how ironic. I hate to say it I had a blast driving the M3 around the track just needs more power on the straights.

Drove the hell out of the M5 and M6, and this was the first time I realized how damn heavy our cars are. Drove the 991S from ATL to S. Carolina and the ride was very nice, and M instructor said who drove the damn Porsche it's wicked. All in fun we all love cars, but it's hard to drive my heavy car now which I never thought I would say. Well it's my family Luxo cruiser now(: See ya Sunday at the car show ........are you driving the M6(:

Like I said man. I know he feeling. It took me a VERY long time to actually like the Porsche-much less love it. Over a month of test driving. Each time coming back saying "what am I nuts"-especially when I would jump in my M5 leaving the dealer. I would tell myself and everyone I knew, even on this board, that I was so not impressed. But the next day something was just itching at me and then I would reconsider. Each time I drove it I like it that much more. The like I said, I got to take it out and abuse it. I drove it out of Jim Ellis and straight across P-Tree Ind on that side road and I had it just screaming on the straights and flying through that big bend at 80+. It was amazing! Now, I can;t stay out of it. I am trying so hard to get some work done here and not go out and drive it. I am telling you that once you figure out how to drive that PDK just right you will fall in love too. It rev matches so perfectly. I cannot tell you how happy I am with my decision. Just keep driving it until you know. Henry (Bimmer6) said the same thing. You drive it 2-3 times and it does nothing for you. Then you start to figure it out and get over your "torque sickness" and you see realize that it is just different. I raced a sales guy at Hennessey in a C4S and my F12 and 0-60 I cold not keep up. It just launches where the M slips. On the highway at rolls the M pulls about 1-1.5 lengths. Also-no top speed limiter-lol! It is just such a totally different machine. So connected and so much fun to drive not only on back roads (where it is just ridiculous) but on straights too And the sound...

Yes father the force is very strong. I am humbled and powerless to it's strength-lol

I know what you are saying. I know yo don't agree after driving both the M5 and M6 today at M school but I do definitely feel a LOT more connected in the M6 than I do in the M5. However, after driving the Porsche, it will feel like a boat. I still LOVE it but I know which one gives me the adrenaline rush! I LOVE that pull of the M car-NOTHING beats it but I MUCH prefer the overall performance and experience of the 911. I remember a year ago when Gary at Butler Tire in Marietta took me for a spin in a Porsche Turbo (and was waiting on his 991 Carrera S to arrive) and he said to me "Mike, once you buy a Porsche you will never buy another BMW". I laughed...but he could be right. Nah-prob. always keep an M car...perfect compliments to each other. If I had to choose one-Porsche hands down.
