Probably to help with knock control and having to run higher octane than 93/91

Issue as you lower compression is worse fuel mileage (not that we care) and your burn profile changes as you continue to flatten the piston. BMW designed the combustion chamber to match the piston so both need to be updated accordingly.

On mine I dropped 0.5 on the pistons but the combustion chamber also got work so likely another 0.2-0.3 there as well

No one is concerned about pushing coolant into the cylinder bores? I know on some motors the head gasket doesn't have enough sealing surface (space between the cylinder and water jackets) to proper seal against elevated cylinder pressure.

that's impressive 500lbs at 4.5rpm is pretty good with turbos that size. Is there more to be gained upping the rev limit? or are the turbos pretty much flat out??

must be interesting getting the power down

Mine? The orange one in my pics is running with Steve's engine. So far so good!

They just started working on my car yesterday, so the countdown begins!
