chrome.

However the folks at IND can help you out with some custom painted
tips. I had them do mine a while ago (before I swapped out the exhaust)

Nice !
Well the idea is the easy part , your ability to translate it into actual paint/work is
the real work

Thx again !!

Looks great. Nate, I am interested in a set as well. How hard is the installation?

Very simple. Just pull off the old tips and push on the new ones (make sure the metal sliders inside the dips are all straight so it slips on easily) .
Won't take more than 5 minutes

The big advantage of the blacked out tips is that you don't need to worry about cleaning them meticulously.

Not necessarily true
If you don't clean them at the same interval as the silver ones they'll become unsightly too

Yes but when you clean them you don't need to use metal polish and get them absolutely perfect.

I had black chrome tips on my 550i and they were far less maintenance than the M5 ones.

That said your tips are painted not black chromed, so I don't know that affects the cleanability. I would imagine it makes it easier to clean since carbon probably doesn't bond as easily to paint as it does to metal.

Since I have had several PMs for pictures after install (by other MCB owners), I'm posting now to share.

I just got them on a little while ago (they were delivered yesterday).
Haven't had a chance to get the system extra hot (like they were in JMH's picture).

So at least you can see what they look like when the exhaust is completely 'cold'.

If the weather doesn't clear up today, then I'll hopefully run it tomorrow and update with additional 'hot' pics.

All I have with me is the camera phone...
Merry Christmas!!!

If any one has a set of stock F10 M5 tips they'd like to sell, I'd like to buy, going to try and fit them on 1M

does anyone know what diameter the stock tips are?

im looking at aftermarkert exhausts and the companies say they have 90 mm, and 102 mm.

and would there be any difference in performance between the 102mm diameter tips and 90 mm?

Stock should be 76mm or 3 inches

The Eisenmann 90mm = 3.5 inches ; 102mm = 4 inches
