Haha... IF it happens, then must be ready to see the comments:
It's heavy, big like...
It's slower than M5/M6
It's not worth to pay that money...
But seriously, what's the competitor of S63 AMG in BMW line?

@RPiM5
BTW according to your signature
"I'm convinced that if BMW would just put the S63tu engine into a chassis as light as the M4, we would have an ///M8 on our hands and it would be glorious"
Then that car must be either AWD or rear engine or both right?
If not then how do you want to drive it? how many cars you know out there (DD car) with this spec and front engine and RWD? ... and please don't say Jag F-Type since it's not 3600 lb and does not have 600+ hp
(Time to get some advices from @Vic55 )

BMW needs a flagship to compete against the S63 imo plus the G11 is going to weigh less than the f01 so it might not be that bad when it comes to handling and performance.

Long overdue just from the perspective of competing with MB S63 and S65
But this is pretty much what the Alpina B7 also fulfilled.

The Alpina B7 was actually pretty fast.

It will be interesting to see if they make the M7 faster than the M5 though. I doubt it.

If it's faster than the M5, it won't be for long! This is an encouraging story to me. It tells me that the next-gen M5 will also be 400+ lbs lighter. Give the M5 the right engine (TT V10 or -egads- TT V12) and we're away. BMW would redefine the category. Come on M, you can do it! Give the people what they want!

A gap of 80HP/TQ between S65 and B7 must be filled up somehow

Sorry, but I can't hold back, running the risk to out me as a total snob. I think it's already stretching to build and drive an M5 (obviously I am a culprit here). This whole category of compromise cars is questionable. I do feel (again obvious because of my own choice) that the M5 is tolerable and really a wonderful car that strikes the right balance and still has some justification on the Ring.

But nobody, really nobody needs an MB S63. With the latest edition of the AMGs (CLA, E63 etc) MB has finally proven that obnoxiousness is their game. I do not argue that these cars are fast and capable and some sound fun etcetc. But please take an S63 to the track and its nothing but laughter.

In that same sense, I do think that an M7 is really unnecessary. I have no doubt that it will outdo all competitors, specially the S63 AMG. And I have no doubt that it will be commercially successful for BMW (in fact I would really brace for considerable decline in sales at MB for this type of car).

Can we talk about the X7 now ;-)

Sorry, don’t want to offend anybody but just had to let this out.

Yup, the X7 is coming too and so is the M750i and the X4 M40i and the X4///M. These are all planned cars coming out and I think it's getting a bit ludicrous. We thought things were bad when the X5M and X6M came out. Now we'll have the second generation of those cars coming out and then the ///M2. I'm probably sticking with my M5 for many years to come.

I hope it's just a rumor. Never been a fan of the bigger Ms (though admittedly the M5 is one lol) like the X5/X6 M. Just seems excessive. Even Audi won't venture into an RS8, just seems odd to want to inject your flagship luxo-barge with motorsport tech. Will be a rolling oxymoron.

But Audi makes the S8. And I would take one of those over a 750Li any day of the week.

The most recent R&T put an S63 vs a Cayenne Turbo S around the Mile track and the Porsche SUV beat it.
