It can't be that difficult to do. Not sure why it wouldn't. It's an F10 and has the comfort doors/trunk. Ah well, we're surviving ok without it up to now.
Do you have two buttons in your trunklid? I believe that's the tell tale sign whether you have comfort access for the trunk or not.

I also want to say I remember that it was added in MY12.

Reviving an old thread here....

Any Aussie F10 owners tried the comfort access trunk feature? Mine doesn't work and the dealer tells me it isn't supposed to. Given the high standard spec on Australian cars, this was a surprise. Mind you, it doesn't exactly sound like the technology is perfect yet anyway.

Sorry to rub it in, but that feature is awesome. It does work quite perfectly. Why would they omit it from oz builds? Wonder if it can be coded on?

I am glad it wasn't just me. Picked up the car recently and played with it in a parking lot. A lady sitting in her van nearby must thought she was eye witnessing some freak pretending to kick a nice car. I tried it about 12-15 times and 2 out of all worked. I gave up and walked away. I hope she didn't call 911 on me.

Works well for me too. Before I got the M5 I'd been trying it on various loaners and success about 50/50. Once I got the hang of it I'm pretty much good every time on the M5 and the last two loaners (F10 & F30)

I had trouble at first but once I realized it is an in and out motion not a wiggle your foot action... it works flawlessly!

Not that it addresses your particular complaint (which would be nice to have , ie closing via comfort access) but coding the car so you can close the trunk with the key fob is actually at least a slight improvement

I thought mine didn't work until I read this post.

I was swinging my leg left to right and the boot never opened but tried the football double kick today for the 1st time and it worked very 1st go.

Why would you need to close it that way? It would be quicker to press the button now that your hands are free.

I stand about 10-12 inches form the bumper, lined up with license plate, kick my right leg at a constant medium speed, pull my leg back at the same speed and it opens on the first try. Pretty much as you would imagine that it should work.

Like some had mentioned, I finally figured out how it works properly. Simply you need to have an in and out motion for the sensor to catch your signal. It doesn't mean you need to stand right in the center of the back of the car. It works for me even from different angles now. Very useful feature.

Yeah. Just takes a little getting used to a smooth in and out motion. Once you get it you get it.

Just went out and tried it and it works!!! I used to swing my foot right and left, and thought my M5 didn't have that feature.
you just need to kick in the middle slowly and will work like a charm

I usually find that I can get the boot to open after one or two goes but tbh I gave up feeling like an idiot and tend to use the fob! I guess the foot swinging thing is good in an emergency, say carrying a dead body or something

@wdimagineer: would you mind letting me know what parts you ordered for your steering wheel change? Very interested in doing this myself!

Basically you will need to stand in the middle of the back of the car (You'll be centered with the license plate). Pretend you are kicking a soccer ball. Kick under the car (medium speed) once, pull your foot back then kick once again. The trunk should open every time.

Hope this helps
Worked like a charm.

Just a tip that might help some who think their trunk is broken (or maybe it is!):
- If your keybob is in the same pocket as your cell phone.. that is a problem. Remove one or the other.
- Do the foot motion slowly

Thats all I got, good luck.

It's all technique.

The first day I got my car, I couldn't get it to work at all. These days I have a 100% success rate.

One piece of advice though: don't keep your key fob in the same pocket as your cellphone. The phone causes magnetic interference which can prevent the car reading the fob.

Mine works so well that at my sons baseball game I parked very close to where I was sitting to watch the game, and a cat ran under the car causing the trunk to open. I caught the trunk opening out of the corner of my eye and saw the cat dart away as I approached.
