OK, Dinan Stage 2 and Cold Air Intake are on order

They gave me the $500 back on the exhaust so I have effectively bought the whole enchilada now. Exhaust for $3000 which is already installed, Cold Air Intake for $3000 and the Stage 2 DTronics module for $3750. That's $10k in mods (before labor) on a rapidly depreciating item but it's just money and if I don't spend it, someone else will. So IMO, this beats getting a new M5 with CP but it doesn't totally negate the interest in a second more sporty car but it will make this one more fun for a while longer.

So when I get another car, I will definitely be keeping this one. I wonder what 620hp is going to feel like compared to what it is already. I may need to get a new set of tires as well.

I am sure I could do this for less but I am not going to get any crap from the dealer since he is selling and installing the parts and I don't have to worry about any blowback effects from the tune since Dinan has it's warranty on the product.

I was very happy with the difference in torque that Stage 2 on the 535 made and looking at the torque curve for this tune, I should be able feel a substantial difference with this one. That is why I am thinking about a new set of tires, at least on the rear, I will need good traction when I get on it.

There is a backorder list for the DTronics and they estimate it will ship by the end of the month. So it's hurry up and wait now.

How about 2989? I will need to go out to the Mills next month which is just a few miles south of 2989 on I45. 2989 is about 10 miles south of Madisonville. Probably won't be until the middle of July though, given the way this stuff usually pans out. It took a week for the exhaust to arrive and it was in stock so if they say that the module should ship end of month, I would bet it's not until after July 4th weekend that I get it installed.

Would it be possible for you to do some pre and post Vbox runs?

Would be a very good way of validating the performance improvement

I have to get the Vbox first. I notice it's pricey. What do people recommend? I have a Samsung S3 phone that I need to upgrade but it won't be to Apple, just another Samsung.

I think I am going to buy the Performance Box (and the expenses for the mods mount). Looks like the sport model is really geared to the iphone and I don't have one. The Performance Box will interface to the PC and I am typing on one of those right now. My wife has Ipad and Ipod but I would rather not use her stuff for the car games as she thinks all this is very juvenile.

Wrsbmw no problem. That road is a long ways away but I guess it will give me a chance to go to my parents property up past Madisonville

It's deeper but not a lot louder than the stock. It uses the valve same as the stock but it burbles real nicely and on WOT it's a good bit louder than stock. I put up a couple of videos on the thread I have about the exhaust. The problem is that the comparison cold start video has the camera closer to the car for stock. I need to fix that and do one with the camera just as close for the Dinan. I think the tips look really good and there isn't a noticeable drone at low rpm. It's not as loud as the other AM exhausts which is what I wanted.

Sounds awful for the cost lol

OP did you ever use BMS piggyback? You'd really know if you got your money's worth if you had that on... If you hadn't I'm sure the added kick even if dinan is less true WHP gained would make a user review "seem worth it"

I really wish I knew what they did and didn't have control over.

Why would I expect any positive feedback from you regarding anything Dinan?

LOL!

Doesn't matter to me, I bought it for me, not for you. From my point of view, it's what I was looking for and so I got my money's worth from it.

No, I am using the Dinan because it's not a problem with the warranty and because I had good results with a Dinan Stage 2 on my 535i.

Because other than my Cobb AP [oh and actually I overwrote the dinan tune with Cobb , so I had that too ] everything on my 335i was dinan, my e92 m3 was dinaned out... Thats why

I've had at least 3 dinan badges worth of product bought from them so catch up ... And nobody said you were buying it for me lmao

Lol! Dinan customers are paying for a warranty not for a performance product. To each their own, I'm more the performance minded and looking for the most out of my car then just a name.

Can't wait for your results would like to see what your car dynos before and after to compare to other vendors. Take care man and good luck!

I am not going to dyno the car. I was planning on getting a vbox and using those numbers but of course they are subjective to a degree depending on how well I can drive the car. So the real test which is top speed can't be done because of the silly limiter.

Dinan is quality stuff, and has been for years. Didn't anyone see what the 5.8 Stroker was like on the E60? Gotta pay to play.
