Grill Stripes

Bought these a while back - before I had the car - and the decided I didn't like the look. A couple of weeks ago, I saw them on a LCI double slatted grill and liked the look a bit more so thought I would give it a try. I am still not 100%, but they are growing on me.

Personally, I like them - and have them. I have a black sapphire with everything blacked out except the wheels and so it has a nice set-off effect in the front. To each his own. IND certainly doesn't give them away though!

I like 'em!

I was planning on buying the grilles from iND. But yes, they are pricey.

Where did you get yours Drew?

I think it looks cheesey personally. Like, cool for your 80's M5, but F10, it doesn't look clean. Just my 2 cents.

I think it adds a nice touch and makes the fact it's an M stand out more if you are going for that. And probably adds 10-15 hp.

I was hoping at least 50 hp!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. It was cheap enough since I already bought them and didn't take that long to put on so I thought I would give it a try.

Bought them a while ago. Pretty sure it was Ebay. I had found them through a thread here. They weren't much more that $10 or $20

Was it a kit made for the LCI double grille slats? I didn't see anything like that.

You really need ground effect lighting to properly balance those stripes.

No. Just came with three strips about 3/4 X 6 inch each and they you have to cut them down.

Kidding with you. I don't care for the stripes though. Too cheesy.

Grill stripes

The grill is an important part of the car's looks and I agonized for a while over what to do with mine. I ended up keeping the double vertical slats in gloss black, had the M5 badge painted in gloss black and the outer grill surround in body color - in my case SG, and all done by iND. My previous 550 MSport was Space Gray and I miss the color. Nothing against Singapore Gray and it varies a lot in different light in interesting ways but boy does it show the dirt....Space Gray was fantastic in this respect. I'd keep your grill how it is now and see if it grows on you - but really no rights or wrongs here. BTW, could you post some side shots showing your HRE's - they must look awesome !
