Thumbs up 2011/2012 F10 M5 spied in more revealing form (3/4/10)

The F10 M5 seen currently in winter testing has shed some of its front end camouflage to reveal more of the M5 than recently seen. If you look closely, you can make out the lower front fascia design behind the remaining black tape, which appears to cover the entire front bumper. Other external parts may yet remain preproduction version -- the final hood will likely see a power bulge (a signature ///M feature), the fenders may yet be widened, the mirrors become sleeker, and the wheels will certainly be larger and a sportier design.

See these PREVIOUS PHOTOS for what the final front bumper and wheel design will likely be.

And these are older photos of the M5 test mule.
If you look closely, the shape of the bumper underneath the camouflage of the car above matches that of the following test mule:

And here's a better look at what may be the production wheels:

This chop by andyvalencia looks like it might be pretty close to what the front bumper will look like:

That front bumper is pretty much the e9x M3 bumper put onto the new M5. Looks good though, but figured they would change it up somewhat.

Hard to get a read from that, but based on the F10 and the aggressiveness of the E9X M3, I know I will love this car. My next car for sure!

Does the hood look any more aggressive? Looks the same to me, so I wonder why they still covered it up.

From the previous pictures, there is a power dome on it. I love the look of the M3 hood, but I hope they don't do a power dome on the F10; it would look overdone with the existing lines on the F10 hood. The X6 AH hood looks pretty bad.

Great pictures!

These style 177 wheels are just being used for testing. This hints at 255 tires on 18 or 19 " wheels for snow tires and thus at a 265/19 front with 285/19 rear setup for regular summer tires. Okay, surely not the most interesting detail about the upcoming M5.

Best regards,
south

If so, then it will be the next M6 F12.

Yeah they look like BBS FIs to me, you can pretty much put them on whatever car you want.

Awesome!

Those M-type front bumpers really make a difference IMO.
