Like others have said, you'll have to format it to fat32. 4gig limit per file. If you dont yet have a mac and plan on ditching windows than just format it to NTFS and when you finally buy the mac just transfer everything to the mac and reformat the drive to whichever format mac uses.

Personally, for external drives, I go for 3.5" as they are priced better.
