The F10 M5 is almost upon us, with a concept version headed for a debut at the Shanghai auto show in April. Being in its FEP phase, it's being tested in some different production colors, including what appears to be a stunning Monte Carlo Blue M5. Before this particular model was spotted, the only other time a blue M5 has been spotted was at M's Garching headquarters where it was spotted with its production rear exposed for the only time.

What we see here is basically the production form of the M5, albeit with front and rear bumper designs still camouflaged. It is easy however to piece together what they look like from previous spy photos (posted below). The new M5 will be powered by a tweaked version of the S63 V8 twin turbo motor from the X5M/X6M, good for what we believe will be 585-600hp.

The F10 M5 concept will bow at the 2011 Shanghai show in April (don't be surprised to see an internet reveal sometime prior) and the production M5 is expected to premier at the 2011 Frankfurt IAA autoshow in September. Euro deliveries will begin in November 2011 and US deliveries begin in Spring 2012.

Monte Carlo Blue looks great on the M5. (Not that it doesn't on any other M car).

Looks amazing in that colour, but those wheels have to go. E60 M5 and M6 wheels are much better. Too many spokes.

It's a to die for car, but probably not my fav color. 600 HP is so awesome. This baby is going to crack a $100K easy.

Very nice car and color, but the wheels are mediocre. I don't like the direction M and M-Tech wheels are going these days.

and I think I have said it before, 600HP needs AWD!

Agreed but for some reason I still feel the E60 M5 is one of the best looking (aggressive) 5 series of all time

We knew MCB was coming based on the spy shots from a few months ago of one sitting in a BMW test facility under a tarp.

But its great to see a side shot.

I think MCB will become BMW's new goto M exclusive blue color, replacing Interlagos and Le Mans. Hopefully they'll leave Le Mans for the M Sport vehicles and keep Monte Carlo just for true Ms.

I actually like the rims though would prefer them in a smoked semi-polish finish.

BTW when was MCB last used if ever on a 5 series?

It's never been used on the 5. It debuted with the E92 M3 Edition, and has since only been used on the X5 M and X6 M. Of course, I am excluding BMW Individual.

Thanks for this info. It's just that it looked similar to the colour I had on my E39 523i all those years ago, just couldn't recall the name of the blue.
