Not sure what you mean here. Hydraulic steering is not a good thing. It takes away from the direct steering feel. Servotronic or electric steering provides a better more connected steering feel.

The new M5 has Servotronic which is a mechanical steering system with hydraulic power steering. At the time BMW M had to decide, the electric steering couldn't meet their demands, e.g. in terms of steering feel and packaging.

Did you not see the new Ring Taxi?
It raced behind the Monte Carlo Blue at the opening presentation.

At M festival there was no Alpine White production so they used Monte Carlo blue because that was available.

What I'm not feeling is the monster fixed 6-pots up front with the floating rotors, and the parts-bin single-piston sliders in the rear. A bit more balance would definitely be better...say fixed 4-pots on the rear's proportional floaters. As for the blue? Maybe it's a new "///M" thing...Red brakes on the M6, These brakes on this car, and bavarian blue brakes on the new M3?

What I said is really super stupid, but not yet as stupid as putting blue brakes on every M5, MIT NO EGGZEPSHUN!!!
