![]() ![]() Video: 2012 BMW F10 M5 vs BMW S1000 RR on Track Car versus superbike videos are more an exercise in entertainment rather than an actual or technical review/comparison, but they are nonetheless fun! So for fun, Autoexpress has put the 2012 M5 against the superbike wearing the same badge - the BMW S1000 RR, in a showdown of BMW's fastest factory car against its fastest motorcycle. The 200hp vs 560hp battle takes place on the Cadwell Park Circuit in the UK. On paper, the results seem to be a foregone conclusion when pitting a superbike capable of 0-60 in 2.9 seconds against a car which does the same in 4.4 seconds, but keep in mind that cars do have higher cornering speeds and can brake later on the track. See for yourself below. |

Epic. But did the first two minutes of cinematography give anyone else epileptic seizures?

If we are already comparing 1000rr vs non-bmws, that's probably the best comparison so far:
Here you can see how fast the 1000rr is through corners... So, M5 vs 1000rr on a dry track, the 1000rr should win.. |

Nice Video.. would like to see them do it when the track is dry... although the RR would win.. still cool to watch!

I don't know about track, but on the street a bike can weave in and out of traffic. Even a 600 could leave the fastest cars in the dust.
