Exclamation 2013 F10 M5: First Dyno Results and Video Are In

2013 F10 M5: First Dyno Results Are In

COMMENTS

While US customers are still waiting for the new F10 M5 to hit showroom floors later next year, European tuners have begun to have access to and tinker with the 2013 M5. Germany based tuner PP Performance have posted the first independent dyno runs of the F10 M5.

This F10 M5 put down 444 BHP to the wheels on a MAHA LPS 3000 dyno. This translates to an estimated engine power of 573.7 BHP and 721 NM of torque.

Other tuners such as G-Power have already got their hands on and begun tuning on the F10 M5. And with tuners already achieving 750hp with the S63 motor from the X5M/X6M (such as the Manhart biturbo M3), expect the same 700+ hp mark from tuned F10 M5's.

See the video of the dyno run below. Also added is a 0-300 kph video PP Performance did. Also stay tuned for more information on the 2013 F10 M5 and check our ongoing coverage HERE.

I love it

Slightly conservative numbers by BMW, makes for a nice surprise at the dyno.

This car is going to be BRILLIANT!!!

How does 444 at the wheels translate to over 570 at the crank? Is it the type of dyno used?

I think the Exhaust is a little quiet, I'd say tune and an x-pipe and mufflers. Then the AMG owners won't have the only nice sounding German Boosted V8 on the market.

Must be. With a 15% driveline loss it only translates into 510 crank.

Actually, with 15% driveline loss, it would be 522hp at the crank:

(444 / 85) * 100 = ~522.

Regarding the numbers, I guess they are good. But I have to say, I don't fully understand the notion of different types of dynos reporting different numbers for the same car/engine. It's so confusing.

It is incredibly confusing to the point where I frankly don't pay much attention to dyno charts any longer.

I wish I worked in an industry where I could successfully market and sell measuring devices which are highly inaccurate.

They're waiting for the turbos to blow up. If I could only take the body of the F10 and supplant the E60 M5 engine. Now that would be a killer combo.

The turbos strike me cold.
