My Silverstone F10 M5 delivered

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I picked up the M5. What a beauty in daylight. This car is absolutely a piece of art. Its way way way ahead from my former E60 M5. The luxery, the comfort is
the first thing you notice when you enter the car.

The first thing I noticed while driving the car was that the steering wheel felt like it was attached directly to the wheels with two screws. I hope I explained it well but I am trying to say is that the steering wheel is very sensitive. Anyway...The HUD graphics are superb. I haven't tried all the buttons yet but I am so happy with this car. This is the best M5 ever made. The V10, smg.....nice but undrivable. This car felt like I was driving my ( first love ) E39 M5 with the comfort of a 550i and the upgraded DCT from the M3. Am I wrong?

It is strange to getting used to the idea that I really own this huge, monsterious, piece of art car. I waited so lang for this car and it is even better than I could ever imagine. The gear changes are so sexy..The "fart" I hated it on all the Youtube vids but in real life it is just amazing and even the "fart" is sexy.

I am a big guy so the in and out of the Ferrari was not a nice view, but the M5 is sooo BIG I just love it. I am IN the car and not ON the car. ( imagine the view )

My kids were at the back and they enjoyed the multi media system very well but my daughter said ( she is 4 and referring to the Ferrari ) " Hee this car does not make a sound "...so then I put it in neutral and put my right foot down... The sound that comes out of this car makes every single hairpiece all over my body standing straight. I am sorry for the V10 lovers but this is way better sounding. So lets delete every vid or article which says that the sound is not good..

I drove my friends 1M today and offcourse it is not bad but the distance to the comfort and techno from the F10 M5 is huge. I'll post some pics next to eachother. The 1M is a small lovely baby compared to the M5.

I just can not find any negative item on this car so far...maybe the shift paddles are a bit too small and thats it. And I can kick myself by not ordering soft close doors. The doors does not close the first time I shut. Mostly the second and even the third time. I hope that is because the rubbers are still new and this will disappear after a while.
Oo and when putting it in the "R" gear the display shows the car from the top. But I have a sunroof and the car on the display doesn't. It is not a big deal but in the e60 this detail was good.

This is Amsterdam so leaving town you are always in a jam. And that is not a bad thing if you drive this car. Young, old, men, women everybody looks at it. A lot of compliments and thumps up. I think that is a combination of the 20'' wheels and the colour. The car is screaming. Most people dont like that but I love that!! Driving is one thing but for me looking at it its just as satisfying as driving it.

I just want to write more and more about the car but I can not find the right words. For everybody who is considering an E63 or a panamera ( I drove them both ) ...please testdrive this M5 first. Anything else will be history. And I dont know about you guys but the ratio M5/Panamera on the road is like 1/15 here in holland. So it is even not that exclusive anymore to drive a Panamera. And I dont think this ratio will grow further then 3/15.

As you all can read I am absolutely in LOVE!!

I am posting some pics. Hope you like it.

Stunning - a beautiful car.

And you've got the lowest maintenance color choices - Silver/blk. Good choice.

Thank you guys!

Owner or not, I'm sure it's a pleasure to read your review by any enthusiast. You write with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement in the end all that matters is - how much YOU love the car. Owner's own feeling about his car is always by far more important than any review, forum topic or a video. Congratulations, keep loving and please write some more here about performance of the car if you've driven it. How does it feel when you push the gas pedal on short distances (since your car isn't broken in yet I assume)?

I was supposed to pick up my car today, but dealer said there's a small scratch on left side near rear wheel and they're repainting it so I have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. Congratulations again, haven't seen such an admirable review in a while and I'm sure you've earned and very much deserved such a present for yourself.

Many congrats to you, it is so refreshing to see and read someone expressing their true emotions likes this and you're right, it is an amazing, beautiful car.

Thanks for the photos as well.

Small scratch??? And you are so cool about it?
Anyway I am sure the dealer will fix it good.

The wait is more killing I guess. But trust me...like I said earlier also to other members it is worth it and I can not imagine how in the world BMW M GMBH
will evaluate the next generation M5 better than this F10...

Can not wait to see pics of your car...

The scratch is 4 mm, but it's there. Maybe it was a stone or dirt from a car ahead while it was being transported on a truck, I don't know. I saw my "precious" but the dealer told me about that there are some windshield scratches from leaves and a 4 mm scratch on the body. I looked trying to find them but couldn't locate so they are so minor that I couldn't locate them even after I was told.

So I'm wasn't cool about it at all, I just realized that I'll be either devastated or accept the fact that there's nothing I can do about it. I chose the latter so I don't spoil my 6 month old wait time where I counted days After all 4 mm scratch can happen any time especially considering snowy and dirty weather conditions in Europe. Sorry for the big reply, didn't want to go off-topic in your thread just shared my experience today because I love the car and dream about it for months almost every night.

Savarona,

I´ve read Your emotional thoughts about your new M5 again, and must say it´s the best writeup so far about the F10 M5.

Thanks for sharing. Looking at your pictures and hearing your words, makes the wait much nicer.
