Hi Community,
i got my M5 last monday and i took it for a 2500 km ride from Poland to spain. I tried to keep the rules in the break-in period and i must tell you: IT IS worth waiting for. I waited 5 months and 3 days for my delivery and I love the car. It is a beast, a road eater, a very fast sedan and a nice sports car in M-Mode. I would say it is also a bit too loud for touring. the V8 is very deep when you are driving in 7th 130km/h ->160km/h. My X6 was more silent but the fun is not comparable, so enough bla bla bla. i will post a review and some photos very soon. Take care Der M5 lovers here is my short review of the new M5 F10: As everyone already wrote, it is worth waiting for. I will try to structure my review into parts: The engine You definitly feel the turbo lag. I started with the point as there is nothing else to complain about. It is very dynamic, it pulls better than any other car (better than the E92 M3) and it has a lot of torque. It is also very economical, this is what Hamond said in the top gear review: it's a wolf in sheep clothes. I had 10l/100km over few hundreds kilometers on the highway in south France. If you are interessted in fuel consumption when you drive faster than i can give you the example of my trip of 192 Kms in 63 minutes at 3 am: I had 17,8l/100Km. All in all, a very good engine. The gearbox when you drive gently, the gearbox is smooth, it doesnt try to break you neck. It is very accurate and very very fast. Once switched to it fastest mode, it throws in gears like in a ferrari 458. You feel the kick in your back and you hear it too. The exhaust gives a nice melody when you change gears The mistakes I did closing the trunk automaticall is a must i forgot it.. The electronics of lane assist and all the assists are rather useless unless you are 65 years old (no offense, my father liked them and he is 67) The M5 Factor: i read few reviews stating that the M5 is an eye-catcher. I agree!! I got thumbs up and a lot of greeetings from people around me on the road. I had a nice adventure with the highway police in spain asking me to drive faster Few things i want to clarify: The gearbox is a sequential manual gearbox. It rolls when you dont hit the brakes on a straight road or slightly uneven. You dont need to put it in any gear when you shut down the engine, leave it in D or R and switchOff. The gear stays in and you get no warning that the car may roll If you starting in a hill, there is a breakAssist, preventing you from rolling back. It keeps the breaks till the clutch engages and you start moving forward. If you drive slowly or in traffic jams, the electronic is good as it disengages the gears and lets you roll in neutral having the 2nd or 3rd gear ready for you when you press the pedal again. I hope i helped the once still waiting for their cars and i am sorry for all the mistakes i might have done as english is not my mother tongue. Regards Samir PS: the cohiba brown is not so light as in some pictures in this forum, the picture i have done have a correct white-balance, so the color are like your eye will percieve them. Hi, for now some pics taken today 2 hours before sunset. car was in the shadow. I will try to post pictures from the car under direct sun light, as the color is different. You can see then some ink blue... PS: the car got c-quartz protection. I recommend it. |

You would need to disconnect your sound system to make the noise go away, but then you wouldn't be able to play music either...
I believe the M6 doesn't play engine noises on the sound system, so it should be quieter. |

The active sound is only in the sportPlus mode. The hoax with sound is exagerated You hear it better in sportPlus but in comfort and sport, there is no sound at all.
I drove the night with switched off music system in comfort so i know what i am writing |

My Azurite/Platinum M5 arrives in a couple weeks. Can't wait. I was really nervous ordering a color that I've never seen in person. I ordered some azurite painted front grills, reflectors and side gills. I've received them and my fears are gone! The color is AMAZING!! In sunlight it is stunning!!! Congrats on your car and PLEASE post direct sunlight pics!

Mate, may I add one thing to your review of this fantastic car. I was driving this car on a race track but it does not give u the idea what a monster this is until u drive it in a regular traffic. When we were having fun with sham on Warsaw streets I was shocked how this car performs in a regular traffic. This is completely insane and you simply do not need mirrors any more. The only other car I would love to have apart from F10 M5 is Z4 with the new 2 litre engine, but this is something completely different.
