That won't happen; take it from someone who has "been there". But, BMW will go a long way to make it right.

Of course HUGE let down is an understatement and wasted valuable time off too. I'm sure BMW must be scratching their heads too.....
I can't wait to find out what the deals is.
I recall someone in the UK went through something like this too with their F10 (however 2012 model).

Terrible to hear, Barry. Picked mine up this morning, broke it in on the way to Nurburgring and then did some laps.

My brother and I discussed yr predicatment last might. To be honest, I agree that they should pick up the tab for your airfare and hotels, plus do whatever they need to get you a 100% functional car ASAP.

Think of it this way: you gave 100% faith in BMW to deliver you a functional, reliable car. The risk of something like this is very small--- but they should take the risk. Otherwise people will worry that this could happen to them. BMW should stand behind the ED experience, even if they have to charge us all $50 extra to cover the 1 in 1000 chance of this happening....

Damn. This is such a bummer. Safe travels home Barry. We'll get caught up when we are both back in the States. Laguna Seca...

Still no new info. Still doing diagnostics. I think my engine is gone. It shouldn't take this long to "diagnose"?
BMW is being very nice trying to help make the best of the situation. They gave me a frozen black M5 for the duration of my trip but I leave in the am. Bummer could of had a broken in M5 for 2 weeks.
Stay tuned. Long day trip back to the west coast without a status of my car.

Really sorry to hear about this Barry. It will all workout and they have to make it right. This could have happened to any of us so I will be watching to see how this is handled.

Just landed at SFO. Had to leave Germany without knowing the status. Have a call planned with BMWNA tomorrow ( too late today). I do not want to jump to conclusions nor resolutions until I get the facts about my car. The other relevant facts are that this is not what I paid for not planned on and expect BMW will make it right. This is my 5th m5, a 335 and cooper s in the stable so let's see.........
They have done what is possible to be nice to me. I wish I would have been able to stay longer as I was given a frozen black f10 to use and it was broken in!!!!! What a fantastic car when it runs...
That's all for now. Need to chase a missing bag.....

Are they gonna do anything else? A discount? Anything?

I would not think that a new car is enough. Unless this one was paid off. What about your trip?
