Mobile service in Europe during ED?

What are you all doing for cell service during ED? I have a ATT iPhone 4. Should I try to use it with intl plan or get a temp phone while over there?

I don't think you can use the iPhone 4 in Europe only the 4s. If you have the 4S you can get the international calling plan and 120MB of data. The Welt has free wireless.

AT&T iPhones have worked since the iPhone 1.0 I think. Get the intl data plan and use Skype. Forward your US voicemail to google voice and just call people back on Skype after you get the speech-to-text transcription email from google.

AT&T iPhone 4 will work just fine. You can add a $6 international voice plan that will lower your voice calls from aprox $1.30 a min to 99 cents a min. You can get an international data plan and get 300MB of data for $60, but try to utilize wifi when ever/where ever you can. If you are texting to other iPhones via iMessage, this will be free if done over wi-fi, same goes for face time over wifi. If you iMessage and your NOT on wifi, it will use your data. But nor too much. You can also get 200 international text for $30 to text people that don't have iPhones/iMessage. FYI, I work for AT&T

i always have the AT&T data plan. choose the one u think it'll suit u the best. i start with small but can always upgrade later (before the monthly bill period ends) to cover the exceed data usage. the data is more important than the voice. add the voice plan if u need. works out better than not have it.

Thanks for the reminder. I am going to upgrade my iPHone data roaming plan right now.

For voice I have the $6 intl roaming plan, but it's still extortionate. Fortunately my company has issued me with a Vodafone phone which has very low roaming rates in all Vodafone countries, so I will use that.
