Issues w/ Spacers????

Hey fellas, I have a vibration after my H&R springs and Macht Schnell spacers were installed. The vibration is at 85-90 MPH and not annoying, but it worries me. I took the car to my trusted confidant at Discount Tire and he looked at the spacers and said that it appeared like the spacers were heating up at a different time than the hubs/rotors were and causing the lugs to work themselves loose. When I say loose, I mean untorqued. He recommended taking the spacers off to determine if that is causing a problem. Any thoughts on this?

what's the size of spacers ? Are they new or used ? Not all spacers are created equal, meaning the fitment may not be perfect between diff. manuf. I have heard Turner Motorsport's spacers have excellent fitment.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, they are Macht Schnell 12mm in the front and 10mm in the rear and I purchased them brand new less than 1000 miles ago.

You should remove the spacers and test to see if the vibration is still there, if no vibration, then it's not the spacers afterall. The process of elimination.

Also double check to make sure the HR springs are installed correctly, front & rear, I have seen errors been made by shop installing the springs in opposite ends.

for vibration is it happening in the rear? spacer-wise we always recommend not going with 10 and at least 12 if a spacer is needed. reason is sometimes vibration occurs with a 10mm because the lip on the spacer that serves as the hub for the wheel is not as big as the one on the 12mm.

Perhaps some of the guys using spacers can also say if they have issues.

I ran the "standard" 12f/10r combo and had no issues whatsoever on the OEM 20"s.

I do have Macht Snell spacers. 10 mm front, 12 mm rear and don't have any issues.

I run 10mm front and rear on the M6, no problems thru the mph spectrum.

The vibration is above 85MPH.

I'm going to take them off and see if the vibration is still there, I will follow up after that's been done.

Thanks for all the replies!
