F10 M5 Mini-Meet, Exhaust Camparo, and other kewl stuff! - M5POST

Hey All,

Twas a most excellent and busy weekend this past weekend. With it being the last weekend of 2012, myself and other F10 M5 owners here in SoCal just had to make the best of it!

So Saturday went to Cars & Coffee Irvine, and then I did a photoshoot afterwards. On Sunday I met up with a couple of Bimmerpost F10 M5 members and we did a mini-meet/mini-drive and ended up having a great breakfast afterwards. We got an opportunity to shoot some video of our different aftermarket exhausts and I made a quick video showcasing them. So enjoy the video and pix! Much more to come in 2013!

Nice pics Dave. Thanks for organizing. Hearing the exhausts in person is the way to go. We could really discern the differences.

Videos never seem to capture the sound of the M5 right, it always sounds so much louder/atmospheric in person. Looking good guys! Sounding even better

Guys thanks for posting this video. I have been watching it over and over with my Sennheiser headphones.

BarryB - I really enjoyed watching your hooning. You may want to sign up for Michelin's loyalty program - I'm sure you're going to be their best customer!

What's amazing in the video is that the Sport and Race sound very similar. In fact in the Vimeo video they sound identical because the video doesn't capture the volume difference effectively. I was expecting the Sport to be quieter at low RPMs because of the valve. It seems the pattern is similar though just louder with the Race.

Still not sure which one I will get though - I'm leaning towards Sport 90mm - have to decide by tomorrow.

Sound wise, the Eisenmann Race System was my favorite even though it was only a section 3 exhaust. However, I still love the RPi GT though because the added power is just so insane. RPi told me that during their dyno testing, they saw momentary gains of up to 39whp. I just wish is was as loud as the Eisenmann!

Oh yeah also, as I exclaimed in the video, the stock system cracks and thunderclaps were definitely louder than the any of the aftermarket systems. Kinda crazy!
