It's a shame that the dealers don't carry any printed copies anymore.

but when you build your own on bmwusa.. it's not an available option..

Thanks for sharing. I don't own an M5 (yet) but if I shelled out $107,000 for a car I would expect a printed manual to go with it. I am all about the green movement but if you need the manual to reference a particular section in an emergency, a Soft copy is useless printing out 200+ pages is an unreasonable alternative.

Just a thought!

Of course you get a printed manual when you buy the car. The electronic copy is handy to use in the house, at the office, on the ipad or anywhere else you have a need but don't have access to the printed copy.

It 's funny how some dealers are not handing out the owner's manual. When I picked mine up I received a whole bunch of books and manuals.
I received teh Owner's Manual, i-Drive manual, Radio manual.

Did I read it wrong- I see 5-30 BMW Hi Performance oil oil not 5-40 or 0-40.... it says you can use the above but its 5-30 in the service section.

If you look on page 179 it states you can use 0w30, 0w40, 5w30 and 5w40.
Since I have winters in Chicago, I'd probably go with mobile1 0w40.
Vic55, since you're lucky enough to live in OC, I'd recommend 5w40 for you.
