Classic: M5 vs E63 AMG

Which one is best? Haha
I actually have a question: why does the merc's engine produce close to 800Nm of torque? And why does mercedes' engines have more torque than BMW's? Can the displacement be a factor?

Displacement is the factor.

As to which is better. The M5 is better. Power is nothing without control.

If you're curious, you can rent an E63 from Hertz for $300 a day.

I've got a F10 M5 and an biturbo E63 wagon with Performance Pack. I can't tell you which is best because I like them both. The M5 rides a little better but the E63 sounds nicer. The Merc feels smaller on the road, but the BMW has a more modern interior. They are both great cars - you can't go wrong with either.

I have owned the E63 and now the M5. I have to say I will never go back to an AMG. The M5 is overall a superior car and feels solid. The E63 just seems like a regular E Series with a bigger engine that sounds louder. Overall better driving experience in the M5
