blue is way too boring. how can that blue be exclusive ... everyone has blue. Now orange is something I have yet to see ! Do It.
are you changing out the entire stock brakes ... they are made by brembo ... unless you are doing it to have the rear the same/similar to the front. |

I would go with white (if you don't mind brake dust on white) or black.
It's easy to forget what kind of car the M5 is. The colored calipers (like BMW Performance Line parts) look great on the 3er's. However on the F10 M5, less is more and cleaner is better. Everyone's taste is different and I can appreciate that. The only time I would pick "a color", is if your M5 matched that color. The gold calipers that come with the ceramic brake package looks great, especially on white (and with the wheels you have on the car now). Maybe match that OEM ceramic gold paint, apply the OEM M decal, throw a clear coat over it (for longevity of the decal), and the result should look pretty good.. not to mention you'll retain the factory look. Post photos after whatever you decide is done. It will turn out great regardless.

There are many different levels of Brembo brakes, at least in the motorcycle world, and I'll bet the same is true with cars. Very possible IND is sourcing a higher construction quality, and perhaps that rear caliper mentioned won't have the clearance problem the stock unit does with some rims?

This is very interesting. How would you manage brake balance if only upgrading rear?

Good to hear! I was hoping and figured it was only a matter of time before a shop came out with a brake upgrade for the rear. Will this only be a caliper replacement since the OEM rotor is already MASSIVE or a full caliper/rotor combo? Also, like someone mentioned, will it still be able to retain the parking brake function? It certainly would make the M5 look like a proper performance sports sedan.

In any case, I'm sure companies like IND will take brake balance in to account before releasing a product. Adding a proportioning valve or similar system to adjust brake bias doesn't seem very feasible on a street car. If I'm not mistaken, Turner Motorsports also mentioned brake upgrades as a component area that they'd like to upgrade on their project car. With the racing experience Turner has I have no doubt they will come out with a great product as well. |

An upgraded rear caliper would be nice. However so far retaining the e-brake has been the challenge
(hence no aftermarket kit (yet)) and even the folks at M had to resort to the OEM parts bin... Maybe next time around they'll go to a two caliper setup like F-cars and others ![]()
