TPMS Error

iDrive is telling me I have low pressure in the right rear, however my manual tire pressure gauge says the pressure is okay.

iDrive is showing 25psi instead of 37psi.

I tried resetting TPMS, adjusting pressure, etc. but still have same issue.

Has anyone solved this issue before?

stealth.pilot, sorry can't help you.
But I want to tell you that the Tire pressure and temperature sensor costs around 60Euros. Just bought 4 for my winter tires set.
Take care

Thanks. I don't need to worry about replacement cost though since my car is under warranty.

I had this issue when I installed the new wheels, however after I reset the TPMS monitors issue resolved. If the sensor's bad, its covered, so no need to worry!

On my Range Rover I had to drive a while before the TPMS would reset itself

Thanks but I know how to reset the TPMS. I've done it many times.

I have same problem. TPMS error popped up few days ago. Tried resetting it 3 times. No luck. Checked all tire pressure manually and all 4 tires good. It is my front right tire. I wonder if TPMS reset is not working because sensor is bad.

I went to 3 dealers and all of them refused to replace the sensor. They all wanted to keep the car for 1-2 days to update the software.

In the end I went to an independent high-end custom shop and they replaced the sensor with an OEM BMW sensor. The cost was $170. This fixed the problem.

Shame on my local BMW dealers for refusing to do a simple warranty repair and trying to do more expensive time wasting things first. I reckon they probably just wanted to keep my car to do some joyriding.

BTW I highly recommend CEC in Miami. Excellent custom shop - very good work they showed me.

Wow. That stinks. I just took mine to the dealer. They checked it out and hooked it up to the computer and found the sensor was bad after only 400 original miles. They had it in stock and replaced it while I waited. Took 2 hours total from the time I walked in without appointment until I drove out with it fixed.

They should have done the work for you in one day. No need for software update if it was just the sensor.

Anyone else that has this problem it most likely is the sensor.

Not sure if I missed something in my settings, but how is it showing you your actual PSI?

Very cool. Is it difficult to do? I happen to be in Software Application Developement business, so I have a few smart guys that work for me.

It's dead easy. You could do it yourself.

I am in senior management in the TMT space and have an undergrad degree in philosophy, politics and economics and a masters in economics. No software expertise, but I managed to do it with no issues.

A step by step here.
