Charlotte Race Week BMW Event/ M6 Gran Coupe Frozen Silverstone - M5POST

Hey Everyone:

I just got back from attending a great event here in Charlotte hosted by BMW and held at the Hendrick Motorsport compound near concord. It was to promote BMW and they had a lot of cars to drive and on display. There was great food, drinks, and lots to see. The highlight for me was touring the Rick Hendrick personal car collection and museum which is usually not open to the public. This collection blew me away. The man has roughly 100 corvettes alone from the 50's to today. Many of the cars are number one production cars. He had three 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1s numbered one and two and 6, not to mention a 2012 Ferrari 599 GTO numbered 1 of 599!!! His collection had roughly 250 cars of the most pristine vintage, to contemporary cars I have ever seen (sorry, no pics allowed). Needless to say it was a great experience. On top of that along with all the other cars outside to drive was a brand new BMW M6 Gran Coupe which surprised me as I thought we would not see that for a few more weeks to be unveiled in Austin. The car was I believe Frozen Silverstone, (I could be wrong as I am colorblind to an extent and have not seen this mentioned on the board) but it was gorgeous, 6 speed, and had ceramic brakes. I love my M5 as it is subtle, and only a middle age guy magnet while the Gran Coupe is most certainly a better chick magnet for a four door car! Enjoy

Geesus! How does he have an M6 Gran Coupe 6 MT already?!!!!!!

Also that ALMS GT M3 is ridiculous!

I hate that guy already! LOL!!!

Quick observation: All that money and he couldn't get cooled seats on his new M6 Gran Coupe?! Lol!

Also, what is that shiny plack piece underneath the diffuser on the M6 Gran Coupe? I've never seen that before. If you look at the picture of the M6 Coupe, that black piece is not there. I'm thinking it must be a little extra added flare for the M6 Gran Coupe. Thoughts?

Edit: One more thing. Does the M6 Gran Coupe not come standard with a trunk spoiler??

Yep the M6GC has a CF diffusor and it does not come with a trunk spoiler

Is there an oem CF spoiler for the M6 like the M5? If so, I wonder if it will fit the GC?

Would have loved to attended that. I have an inside connection who was also there. He posted a pic of the F31 touring.
The 6sp on the M6GC is a surprise. Was it Mr Hendrick's or a BMW NA car, of which they have prototypes months ahead of launch?
Re his collection, I have seen some at local shows including the 599. Sweet!

I believe it was a BMW NA car as many of the cars had NJ plates , but the Gran Coupe had no plates.
