on my iphone 4s ios 6 i have to manually tweak something in notifications/mail every time i start the car to get mail to work in office.
I modify show item count (1,5 or 10) and then new emails pour in.

+1. Turn Notifications off then back on under the "Settings" menu every time you get in the car, and the emails received while in the car will appear in iDrive. Oddly, emails how up as texts, but they can still be viewed and read.

There are obviously some glitches left in the software that need to be resolved.

I tried modifing all those setting to no avail, but not after starting the car and connecting to Bluetooth. I'll give that try, even though its a pain in the ass. Might be worth it for longer trips.
