EAS's Dyno Sheet: My M5, C63 Black Series, E63TT with PP- same dyno different days

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
As the title says--- our good friends at EAS, local Orange County BMW tuner, parts, and mod specialist dyno'd a few of my cars and member VDubpower's car (E63TT). As a BMW owner (5 M's) they are my "go to" down here in So Cal.

All three cars were done on different days but the conditions were relatively similar. Tom, co owner, was kind enough to do an overlay of the 3 cars for perspective. Keep in mind that the cars being done on different days will yield different results but arguably they wont differ too much.
I thought it would be cool to see where the sweet spots are on each car vs each other. I have had 2 M157 PP engines so I know what they are capable of but with all due respect stock vs stock my M5 beats the CLS and E63TT's that I had. My Black is lower on the power list but weighs less and that makes up the gap.

The cars:
2013 F10 m5
2012 C63 Black Series
2012 E63TT with the PP
All cars are stock.

This first dyno sheet shows the power with mph vs rpm's. Check out the Black's power (hp) curve vs the M5--- similar in shape just lower on the spectrum. Thanks again to Tom and team at EAS (European Auto Source). These are all SAE corrected numbers.

Here is the same overlay with RPM's

Great comparo! Would be interesting to strap the VBOX on each one on the same day and see what they do 60 to 130 in. And see who prevails!

Wow that e63 is a monster in the torque department. I find it funny they rate the black series at 510hp and the m5 at 560hp, yet the m5 is coming out at over 86whp more. Dang vic your m5 is pushing over 650hp at the flymark, with no tune!

My cousins E63 with PP has noticeably more torque than my M5. The M5 has the race exhaust so it is not stock?

Thanks guys... for the comments.

Yes actually my M5 does have the race exhaust but I do believe that Eisenmann and others have posted no gains via the axle back variety.

Tyler I seriously doubt Im running 650 at the crank---- I think there is less drive train loss with the DCT so its higher than the 560 factory number but not at 650.

Holy moly the M5 is powerful. Not surprised the higher displacement benz makes more outright torque, but the M5 holds its torque for longer. I wonder if the S63tü is near its limits in stock form because it seems like tuners are able to extract more from the M157 easily than the S63Tü. Still amazing what only 4.4 liters was able to do against the big boys!

@Vic- Oh ok, I didn't know if that was calculated with drivetrain loss or no. But still that is impressive, your definitely over the 600 mark.

@Wisesoul- I agree but I don't know if we can make the call yet, the car really has only been on US soil for 4-5 months. They seem to keep finding more gains in the M157 and its been out for a while now. I guess time will tell.

Definitely over 600hp for sure.

It doesn't matter how advance they made the DCT to be. It is inevitable to avoid the general rules of physic. There will always be drivetrain loss unless the dyno is directly connected to engine.

General rules are 15% for FWD, 18% for RWD, 20% for AWD.

Even at the lowest 15% drivetrain lose, your car still dyno at 631HP.
At 18% your car is running 654HP.

Helloo from Russia with Love! =)

Great numbers, I'm shocked, actually. Do you have any 60-130 mph or 100-200 km/h times of your powerfull M5?

Yeah, it does seem that BMW is pushing their powerplant harder from factory to be at current segment power levels. I think time will tell the M157 does have more tuning potential. Either way both cars are very quick.

Too bad that yesterday E 63s and CLS 63s were announced. With 585HP and AWD projected 0-100 km/h in 3.6 sec. That torque will murder M5.

I'm not sure how you figure that when we havent seen what the new m3 will bring... and based on history.

What happened in dtm? Didnt audi use awd? and... m3 > * in dtm.

MB always had MUCH more torque and Audi always used turbocharging and AWD. BMW was rarely fastest in the straight line, but they knew that sport car, as opposed to the race car, had to be most enjoyable, not necessarily fastest. BMW as of late are not that sharp, and MB are more fun to drive plus its torque give more usable and effortless performance.

NO! DTM cars are more or less the same. RWD, NA 4l V8. Plus with Audi's and MB's consent they changed the rules and each gave BMW one great driver to ALLOW BMW to be competitive in 2012 DTM. All for the sake of sport. I wish F1 and WRC were like that.

I don't know if an x-drive M5 would be so interesting
