Eisenmann Race - First Impression

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I got a great deal on a complete Eisenmann Race System, but initially have only had the rear muffler installed, I figured I could evolve the system if the mufflers felt too quiet......

Had the system fitted by Auto Enhance, CA appointed fitter, and they done a good job.

I have never heard a Eisenmann in person on a F10, but heard numerous clips on the web. I was sitting in the waiting area when I heard car startup, everyone in the room smiled! The fitter took it for a quick test drive to make sure it was all okay and it sounded very mean driven slowly out of the workshop and down the road. On his return the fitter took it back in the workshop and then gave it some beans, the clips do not convey the actual sound they make in person, the cracks are excellent..........

Its still early days, but initial impression are that you can not describe the Race mufflers as subtle, and to my ears there is some drone around 1500-1800 rpm, this may improve with miles? Cold starts are very loud in an enclosed space, but once it has warmed-up settles down to a nice deep tone. I am glad I didn't go straight for the full system, but no doubt when I get used to it will crave something a bit extra.

Thanks for the write up mate, been waiting for you to have it fitted. Apart from the slight drone you mention, are you very happy overall with noise levels, as in being acceptable, in the cabin when cruising ?. I know it should sound fab when you nail it, but i wouldnt want the noise to be over intrusive when you are on a relaxed cruise, keep us informed of developments, regards, SIMON.

Clips when you get the chance. We are noise junkies. Congrats.

To me that low rpm drone means you can hear your exhaust at low rpms. If you want the same sound without the low rpm audibility then you can get the Eisenmann Sport.

I have the Sport and it is a fantastic exhaust when you are doing a lap of the city with a lot of acceleration and deceleration. But cruising at 1800 rpm it feels a bit quiet. However even with the sport you can hear it under acceleration at all rpms.

Five days in and it's a real grower.......

Diffinatly adds a new dimension to the M5! Cold start is very loud, but soon quiettens down. It's quite easy too loose the drone by keeping the revs above 1.8k. On full beans the sound is amazing......
