ipod + 'random' setting

Is there any way for iDrive to stay on shuffle when playing tracks from an ipod? Profile seems to remember everything but this one setting and I need to keep going into the menus to click this option each time as it keeps defaulting to not 'random'.

Thanks

you can set up a shortcut button on the dashboard...
while you are playing a playlist, once u press that button, your music in that playlist will play randonly.

When using random mode is there a way to skip to the next random track form the steering wheel buttons? I find I have to reach for the dash buttons to accomplish this.

Thanks.

Not for me. They are alphabetical. It will see if there is a setting for that. I am playing from a USB drive by the way if that matters. Also the forward and back arrows are at the top and bottom of the list. Not very convenient for a long track list.

If you check the random box in iDrive, make sure shuffle playback option is off on the i device itself.

The random playback doesn't alway stick in our cars for some unknown reason but doing it that way helps.
