Question Black Sapphire Metallic paint

Does this colour shine and look like other Dark colours in sun light, anyone?.
Or does it just look black.

It's very sparkly in the sunlight. It doesn't have much of a hue to it like the other black colors, like Azurite Black, or Citrin Black. But it looks more robust than Jet Black, commonly found on the E92 M3's. My personal favorite was Carbon Black, it almost looked like Monaco Blue under certain high light conditions. I thought about doing a special order for Carbon Black on my F10 M5, but that would have delayed my Sept 1st Euro Delivery last year so I decided not to do it.

But yeah Black Sapphire Metallic is pretty badass.

Thanks for your input, I may get a chance at a Metallic Sapphire Black M5 with Platinum Merino lthr - BMW Individual and Piano Black interior Trim, so need to know what it looks like.

A word of friendly advice from an experienced Piano Black Trim owner, don't do it unless you absolutely have to have it. It's a PITA to maintain and scratches easily. I don't have a wife or any kids or a dog and my Piano Black has already suffered a few light scuffs and scratches despite my almost Nazi methods of taking care of it. I even Opti-Coated all of my Piano Black Trim and still it gets attacked. I'm thinking about Clear-Bra'ing it now! Lol! It does look super sexy, but I really wish I had gotten the Aluminum Trace Trim, which looks awesome and unique as well. There are actually not a lot of F10 M5 with the Aluminum Trim, most of the dealer order M5's have the wood trim, so the Aluminum is kinda exclusive.

This car is "pre-registered" in Jan 2013, so if this deal comes off, i'm stuck with it.
But I only have the wife and I to transport so it should last a while.

Black Sapphire Metalic has a very nice silver metallic fleck that shows in the sun. Quite attractive IMHO.

It shines like a proper metallic. It's a great colour & really suits the car, but of course requires a lot of cleaning (no bad thing)!
