That's great news. Well, the actual dimensions do matter, I believe. If I don't have luggage in the trunk a standard size spare is no problem, if I do have luggage every inch can make a difference.
That's why I'd like for you to tell me how high the rim is above the tire, and exactly which tire size you are using. If I'm only saving a couple of inches of stackable height with your spare over the stock tire it may not make sense for me to invest in a wheel and tire that will only be used in rare situations and can't be rotated into the use cycle of the other tires. Does that make sense to you? It doesn't seem like an unreasonable request.
