Ran it into the ground and alas was not able to pass a smog test in California. Ugh! Wasn't worth the money to fix. In any case I'm now debating whether to buy super lo mileage 2015 M5-- 5k miles, dealer driven with nearly all bells and whistle: comp package, exec package, driver assist, bang&olufson, night vision, ceramic brakes. MSRP of $127k going for $87k, maybe can buy for a bit less. Or my dealer said I could custom order the first 2018 m550i that rolls into his shop. With the extras, it should price out around the F10. I've been pulling my hair out trying to make a decision, so if anyone has thoughts/opinions would love to hear. I should add that I will be driving a lot of city miles in SF in the car, but also will get out on the open road...of course! Thanks!

Get the M5! the 550 will be cool until they are all over the place and you'll look back and be like damn why didn't i get the m5, I'm driving a 550. No comparison in my book. A true M is what people care about! Not to mention if a f10 pulls up next to you, stock or not after 30-40 mph you'll be left in the dust.
If your buying this is a no brainer. That 550 will tank! The m5 already took on some depreciation and it's an M so it will hold up better. A $85,0000 550 will be worth 45k in two years.
