Living in CA, we don't have access to real 93oct. So we have to mix it using either race gas/pump mix or 91+octane booster. Usually we find the race/pump mix to behave differently (better) than 93oct due to differences in formulation. So we use the 91+lucas octane booster which gets us pretty close to 93oct. I would rather develop/test tunes on slightly subpar fuel than on superior octane fuel which would result in customers not seeing the same gains.
