If it was the oil pump at least it should have given me a sign or a sensor should have came up ... not a single thing on the dashboard ...
I wasn't aware that also M5 had rod bearing issues ... we also have in the house a 2008 M3 e93 w 75k miles on it and runs great ... will do oil analysis soon ....

My engine had to be replaced as well in 2018-Dec. If I recall, I was around 78K miles and it is a 2013 M5. Although mine didn't seize, the rod bearings failed. Fortunately it failed right before the CPO warranty expired and the dealer took care of it right away without hassle.
It's very possible that the early M5s had some sort of defect.
