My dad flew the Corsair as a Marine in Korea until 1953. I'll have to look at his log books but I think he switched to jets after Korea in 1954. For him, that jet was the F2H Banshee. He much preferred the Corsair.
Here's a pic of him taking off from the USS Bataan in Korea. He loved that plane!
