If you're referring to the rear script, "tii" means touring international injected.
BMW built the 2002ti with dual carbs & the 2002tii (1972-74) with mechanical fuel injection.
I've been a 2002 owner since 1980 - started with a '70 2002, then the '76, and the '74 tii since 2002!
