False. It is reckless to advise OP that it's ok to use different tires on the same axle. The differences may be subtle, but they are absolutely different. Each Michelin manufacturer spec has different tread compounds, tread profiles, and measurements. In fact, Ive had the N spec(Porsche), ford spec, and K spec (Ferrari) cup 2s side by side in the exact same size, and the Porsche spec were almost a cm wider and clearly had a different shoulder profile. You can get away with both of any manufacturer, but mixing is just a bad idea.
OP, depending upon how you drive, it may not make much of a difference, but if you are tracking or doing aggressive Canyon runs, I wouldn't chance it with different tires on the same axle. Normal street driving with some occasional hard cornering, it probably won't make much difference. I would take it back to the retailer and tell them it is a safety issue putting different tires on the same axle and they need to fix it ASAP. See what they say.
