UPDATE: It appears that the OEM for BMW transmission fluid is Pentosin. As-of not that recent, but just a couple years ago they started to rebrand our OEM Pentosin FFL-4 fluid. Now the parent company is Fuchs and their Titan DCTF is a re-bottled Pentosin FFL-4. Have a good look at the label on this guy.
Here's an article on the C8 forums that also addresses this subject:

SO, if you're here today reading this looking for a cheap alternative to the OEM fluid... Just buy the OEM fluid! But buy it under the brand name
Fuchs Titan FFL-4 as it is the identical fluid
Hey everyone, don't jump me for making another "WHICH FLUID FOR XXX?"
In any event, I want to help by making this useful thread for anyone else looking to swap fluids on their BMW M car in the future.
I'm doing a DCT fluid change on my M car (Getrag DCT - same unit shared across the M lineup) and going in with a new pan and filters while I'm at it. Before I pull the trigger on fluid I wanted to check in here and see if the consensus has shifted at all in 2026 — there's a lot of older threads on this but curious if anyone has more recent experience.
From what I've gathered so far:- Liqui Moly 8100 - FCP Euro uses this in their DCT services, accessible and well regarded
- Pentosin - Comes up a lot as a top recommendation but the price per liter is pretty steep
- Motul High Torque DCT - Hardest to source but its the newest, heard Motul mentioned especially on the Facebook M car groups. The newer High Torque DCT fluid is out for a couple of years, though I'm not going in biased toward it
Not pushing any particular brand here - genuinely trying to figure out if there's a good / better / best hierarchy with these three, or if there's something else worth considering that I'm missing. Happy to hear if it really just comes down to preference and availability at this point.
Any anecdotal experience is appreciated - both for me now and for whoever finds this thread when they're building their shopping list down the road.
