ticket sales make up a very small portion of the revenue. its all the sponsorships and tv/media deals that bring in the big bucks.

nba made $10bill last season. only about $50mill was from tickets.

like it or not, the nba/nfl are going to continue to make a ton of money off media deals and athletes will be getting more and more money because of it
