Today it was overcast with air temperatures between 48-50F. Matt was at MIR again with his new White F90 M5 Competition Edition. Since last Sunday, his M5 has been tuned (JB4) and new carbon fiber cold air intakes installed. I didn’t have the chance to asked him if he did the upgrades himself or where he had the work done. But apparently after several runs he still was close, but not dipping into the 10s. Unfortunately, he now is dealing with error codes when he launches hard.

My first two runs were made in bypass mode (no tune) doing the following which seems to reduce spin and axel hop for me at this track:
  • At lest a half tank of gas
  • Dropped rear tire air pressure to 28-30 psi
  • Brake torque just below 1000 rpm
My last runs were made with DINAN stage two installed but accidentally was above 1000 rpm when brake torquing. Both times I had to let off the gas and Race 3 (last time slip in pic) I pulled over immediately to make sure all was okay due to spinning and axel hop.

(Race 1) 11.63sec 122.66mph
(Race 2) 11.68sec 121.90mph
(Race 3) xx.xxsec xxx.xx stopped race, spun with axel hop
(Race 4) 12.70 sec 120.01mph spun with axel hop after 60’
WRONG ORDER: The attachment has the last two runs in the wrong order; order is 1,2,4,3.
